Niro Feliciano, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, best-selling author, national media commentator, and sought-after speaker based in Wilton, Connecticut. With over twenty years of clinical experience, she works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, helping clients navigate anxiety, relationships, and life’s most meaningful transitions with clarity and confidence.

Niro earned her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College and her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. During her training in New York City, she completed clinical internships in family systems at a Brooklyn-based ACS organization and in inpatient and outpatient oncology at Beth Israel Medical Center in Union Square. Prior to entering private practice, she worked with high-risk adolescents at Mount Sinai’s Adolescent Health Center, one of the largest adolescent clinics in the country.

Niro is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders. Her work also integrates Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. She places a strong emphasis on helping clients understand the neuroscience behind anxiety, mood disorders, and stress responses—empowering them with insight into why they feel the way they do and how therapeutic tools support meaningful change.

Niro works with older adolescents (16+) and adults, specializing in anxiety and relationship concerns. Niro is known for her ability to quickly connect with clients and get to the heart of what each person truly needs to live a fuller, healthier, and more satisfying life. She firmly believes that anxiety is highly treatable with the right tools, support, and therapeutic plan, and has dedicated much of her career to helping clients successfully overcome anxiety disorders. She also enjoys supporting clients through major life transitions, including graduation, career and relationship changes, and peri- and menopause-related shifts.

As a parent herself, Niro is deeply attuned to the challenges of raising children in a culture of constant connectivity, excess, comparison, and instant gratification. She enjoys working with parents who want to strengthen their relationships with their children while supporting their emotional well-being and long-term potential.

In addition to her clinical work, Niro is a trusted expert voice in national media. She has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Oprah Daily, Real Simple, Parents, NPR, and more. She appears monthly on the 3rd Hour of the Today Show and serves as a parenting and mental health expert for NBC News Daily. Niro is the author of This Book Won’t Make You Happy (2022) and All Is Calmish (2025), and is a featured expert on today.com where she writes the popular column “Is This Normal?”
