ADOLESCENT THERAPY

Adolescence is a time of enormous growth—and often enormous pressure. Today’s teens are facing more challenges than ever before: social media, academic and athletic demands, friend group issues, exclusion, identity exploration, and constant comparison. We are living in a time when adolescent mental health is especially at risk. The key is early intervention. Don’t wait until there is a crisis—supporting teens early can prevent struggles from becoming overwhelming and helps them build lifelong emotional resilience.

Adolescent therapy provides a safe, nonjudgmental space where teens can better understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Therapy helps them navigate challenges, build confidence, improve communication, and develop healthy coping skills. At its core, adolescent therapy focuses on creating a trusting relationship between the teen and a trained clinician, offering support, guidance, and tools to create meaningful, lasting change.

Teens seek therapy for many reasons, including stress, anxiety, sadness, school pressures, friendship or family conflict, identity concerns, self-esteem issues, social struggles, and life transitions. Our therapists are here to support teens through these challenges, as well as common mental health conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, and more.

Our providers are trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies proven to help adolescents thrive, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

A structured, goal-oriented therapy that teaches teens how to identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. CBT helps reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress while building healthy coping strategies.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):

A skills-based therapy that helps teens manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and cope with distress. DBT has strong research support for reducing self-harm, impulsivity, and emotional reactivity.

Internal Family Systems (IFS):

A compassionate approach that helps teens understand their inner emotional world and build healthier relationships with the different “parts” of themselves. IFS supports emotional regulation, self-compassion, and healing from trauma.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT): A mindfulness-based therapy that helps teens reduce the struggle with difficult thoughts and feelings while making choices aligned with their personal values.

Unified Protocol (UP):

An emotion-focused CBT approach effective across a wide range of emotional difficulties. UP strengthens teens’ ability to manage emotions, reduce anxiety and depression, and respond more flexibly to stress.

Our goal is to match each teen with the therapist and therapeutic approach—or combination of approaches—that best fits their needs. We also offer a collaborative team model that allows family members to see different providers within the same practice, ensuring coordinated, comprehensive care when multiple supports are needed.

We strive to make getting help simple, comfortable, and accessible. Early support can make all the difference—and we’re here to help teens and families every step of the way.
