Meet Lisa Fraidin, PhD

Founder, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Lisa Fraidin is a licensed clinical psychologist based in Wilton, Connecticut, where she has been helping individuals lead more fulfilling lives for over 20 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tulane University and went on to receive both her Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology/Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University. Her early training included a specialized internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, where she focused on pain management. She later worked in interdisciplinary medical settings in San Francisco, becoming an expert in chronic pain and conducted and published research in the areas of pain management and caregiver strain. After moving to Connecticut in 2005, Dr. Fraidin expanded her scope of practice to address a broader range of psychological concerns at group practices in Danbury and Greenwich. Since launching her solo practice over two decades ago, Dr. Fraidin has become a trusted and highly regarded psychologist in Fairfield County.

Dr. Fraidin specializes in working with adults (ages 18+) who are navigating anxiety in its many forms. Her areas of expertise include generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, health anxiety, existential concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and anxiety tied to life transitions such as fertility struggles, postpartum adjustment, relationships, divorce, and work/career changes.

Taking a collaborative and individualized approach, she emphasizes the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. Her work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a well-researched and highly effective approach for treating anxiety. CBT helps clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and avoidance. By uncovering the roots of longstanding beliefs and behaviors, clients develop greater self-awareness and more effective coping strategies, leading to lasting symptom relief. Treatment also integrates practical, evidence-based tools, such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and strategies to regulate the body’s stress response, helping clients calm anxiety and restore balance to the nervous system.

Dr. Fraidin is deeply committed to helping clients feel more at peace and connected to themselves and others. Her goal is not only to reduce distress, but to empower people to live with greater confidence, clarity, and emotional well-being.
